March 27, or popularly observed as World Theatre Day, is one extravaganza for thespians to indulge in and experience. Initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the day revolves around the theme "Theatre and a Culture of Peace".
World Theatre Day not only celebrates the art form and all those that make up the theatre — from actors and storytellers to costume and set designers and musicians. Written by the established theatre doyen Nadira Zaheer Babbar and directed by renowned actor and dreictor Raja Awasthi, Dayashankar Ki Diary is a story of a struggling actor. In the play, Dayashankar faces numerous rejections and loses control.
