DMR Mumbai Central Railways (CR) announced the cancellation of seven mail express trains due to the commissioning of the Ankai Killa-Manmad section with a doubling of tracks. As per the CR officials, the work for doubling the tracks between Manmad Junction and Ankai Killa stations is will start from June 25. In order to reduce passenger struggle, trains on this route have been cancelled post the start of doubling work.
Panchavati Express which runs for 261 km from Mumbai at 18:15 to Manmad Jn at 22:50 on a daily basis is amongst the cancelled trains. It passes through 10 stations including Devlali. Passengers who often travel from Nasik by Panchvati Express are forced to stand inside coaches due to excessive crowds.
Another train that runs daily from CSMT is CSMT-ADB Spl, starting its journey at 16:35 and reaching Adilabad (ADB) at 09:30 while covering a distance of 875 km in almost 17 hours at an average speed of 23 km/hr. CSMT-ADB Spl runs via Aurangabad, making it a crucial train during festivals.
