Tucked away inside Princess Building in Bandra, Maharashtra Mitra Mandal Library fondly known as the Mcubed Library, is home to over 10,000 books. The space is divided into two sections, one for the kids and for the adults - both equally colourful and well stocked. So, bibliophiles, if you are looking to fuel your reading habit without burning a hole in your pockets, we’ve found a place for you! And if you're someone with high screen time, this is your chance to reduce it.
Established in 1981, Maharashtra Mitra Mandal Library is an iconic city library established by BMC. It serves as a cosy community space for young minds to come and pick up something to read! Apart from books, you can also borrow magazines and newspapers.
The inner space of the ground floor library is done up in minimal furniture, couple of windows and dedicated Reading Room and a separate Study Room for Girls. Over the years, Maharashtra Mitra Mandal has hosted music recitals, workshops, plays and a literary festival too.
In conversation with Knocksense, Assistant Librarian Rahul said “Mcubed Library is well quipped with a wide range of fictional and non-fictional books. We also house a dedicated reading and study room for members to sit and enjoy a quiet time”.
A quiet, quaint space away from the hustle and bustle of the city, makes Mcubed Library a perfect place to just curl up with a good book and read to your heart's content. Follow Mcubed’s website and Instagram handle for more updates.
