Speaking of places to unwind and embrace leisure, the Gymkhanas have etched their mark as upscale havens in various Indian cities. These swanky member clubs effortlessly blend sports, chic bars, cultural enclaves, and elegant spaces for ceremonies and functions, creating a sophisticated all-in-one experience.

One such iconic establishment is The Bandra Gymkhana in Mumbai, standing tall as one of the oldest clubs in India. Since its inception in 1935, this esteemed venue has proudly served as a nerve centre for the local community. Nestled in the upscale, verdant neighbourhood of St. Andrew's Road in Bandra West, the club has evolved into a sophisticated hub. Today, members enjoy access to a plethora of upscale amenities, embodying the epitome of refined leisure.

The history and facilities of The Bandra Gymkhana

As for the club's origins, a group of community-driven individuals came together to establish the Gymkhana. Dr. D.A. D'Monte, a prominent figure in Bandra, played a pivotal role by generously donating approximately 7,592 square yards of land along with additional funds to facilitate the club's creation.

Today, the club boasts an array of upscale amenities, encompassing four expansive tennis courts, two badminton halls, and various sporting facilities catering to activities like billiards and table tennis. In addition to these, the venue features a well-stocked library, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a refreshing swimming pool, a sophisticated restaurant, a stylish bar, and a pavilion.

Moreover, members have the privilege of hosting conferences and parties in the dedicated banquet and lawn space, as well as in a fully equipped conference room.
