Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) on Monday introduced a new air-conditioned midi bus service between Mumbai Airport T2 and Kharghar, to meet the long-standing public demand for the same. Ferrying as many as 40 passengers in one trip, the new service is touted to ease transportation for about 1,500 commuters daily. The bus will run throughout the week, every 90 minutes, added reports.
The BEST is already running an air-conditioned bus service between Vashi depot and T1/T2 terminal of the Mumbai Airport. However, former Mayor Kavita Choutmal, Panvel Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) had urged BEST and BMC to extend the route of the AC bus that ran till Vashi, said reports.
Working on the suggestion, the new route will include Vashi, Seawood, CBD Belapur and Jai Vayu Vihar as stops. It will not only save passengers' time but also money with its economic fares. Travelling from cab can cost one between ₹600 to ₹1000.
The fares form Mumbai Airport Terminal T2 are as follows :
• ₹150/- for Vashi
• ₹175/- for Seawood
• ₹225/- for CBD Belapur
• ₹250/- for Kharghar
