Mumbai

Flavourful & tangy street snack in Mumbai, Ragda Pattice, will leave you wanting for more!

A delight for street food admirers, Ragda Pattice is thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Khushbu Kirti

Making a comfortable spot amongst the top street food favourites of Mumbaikars, the Ragda Pattice is one flavourful and tangy snack. The mouth waters when you merely hear the name, let alone reading about it. And when you taste it, the crispy yet soft, tangy yet slightly sweet flavours create a foodgasm like none other!

A chaat special, the popular dish is available at every chaat stall on the vivid streets of Bombay. Like the name suggests, the dish comprises ragda (the curry made of dried white peas) and pattice (basically, pan-fried potato patties).

Into the Ragda Pattice

A chatpata creation, the taste of blended ragda (chana cooked well in aromatic spices) and pattice (made from a patty of mashed potatoes) is aggravated by the addition of cut up tomatoes, crunchy onions and fine crispy sev. The sea of flavours arise from the chopped up ingredients, the spices and khatti-meethi and teekhi chutneys served along with Ragda Pattice. Of course, sprinkled fresh coriander leaves on the top only augment the oozing melt-in-mouth flavours.

The similar counterpart, Aloo tikki and chole, is popular in North India but the Ragda Pattice in Maharashtra has a distinct taste. And street food admirers would agree!

A wholesome meal

This roadside delicacy, sold by street vendors, leaves you wanting for more. Ragda Pattice is a wholesome vegetarian snack that can be customised according to ones preference. This simple snack can be prepared at home and enjoyed as a meal too!
