Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: Mumbai Police issues traffic advisory for 10-day festivity; check here

Mumbai is all set for the mega celebrations of Ganeshotsav 2023. Thus, in view of the ongoing festivities, Mumbai Police have restricted the operation of private buses and other heavy vehicles in the city from September 19 to September 29.

Mumbai Police have also designated no entry points, traffic diversions, and alternate routes to avoid logjams and congestion. During the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, a total of 13,726 police officials will be deployed across the city.

Plying of heavy vehicles allowed only between midnight and 7 AM

As per the restrictions, operating of heavy vehicles and private buses will be completely prohibited in South Mumbai on September 21, 24, 26 and 29. Furthermore, on September 20, 23, and 25, heavy vehicles of all types and private buses will be barred from operating on Mumbai roads from 11 AM to 1 PM, apart from South Mumbai.

From September 19 to September 29, heavy vehicles and private buses will only be allowed to operate between midnight and 7 AM. But the same will not be allowed in South Mumbai on the above-mentioned dates, i.e, September 21, 24, 26, and 29.
