Good news for Mumbaikars! 24 new services added to Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7

On average, around 190,000 commuters use these lines daily.

In a move to cater to the increasing number of commuters, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) has announced an addition of 24 services on Metro lines 2A (Dahisar West-Andheri West) and 7 (Dahisar-Gundavali). From today, there will be a total number of 284 daily services, with a seven-minute headway between trains.

With the growing popularity of Metro lines 2A and 7, especially during the monsoon season, the decision to increase services during peak hours aims to accommodate the increasing number of commuters. A seven-minute headway between trains ensures smoother travel, and three metro trains are kept on standby for emergencies.

This move follows a record-breaking day, earlier this month, when Metro 2A and 7 accommodated 260,471 passengers. On average, around 190,000 commuters use these lines daily.

As Metro 1 marks its 10th anniversary, having ferried 970 million commuters, the call for better services and longer trains continues to grow louder.
