Are you on the lookout for a restaurant in BKC that'll cater your food cravings in delish ways? Well, check out Lyla Bombay, where scrumptious Mexican-Californian delights are served with an artistic flair!
Known for its flavourful blend of spices that results in a mouth-watering grub, Lyla features vivid scenes at every corner. Drawing inspiration from Mexico and California, this luxe venue promises to turn your average night out into a full-blown fiesta. And here’s a glimpse into our first visit!
Stepping into Lyla, you are greeted by a swanky 4,500 square-foot space adorned in rich wooden panels and a vibrant mix of Indian, Afro-Latin, and Spanish design elements. The interiors here are truely a visual feast, to say the least! Settle into the plush, low seating that’s ideal for a relaxed dining with ample natural light.
Moving on to our dinner experience, where we sampled some of Chef Beena’s most recommended dishes.
We kicked things off with the colourful Two To Tango Salad (₹725), a vibrant medley of fresh avocado bits, juicy mango chunks, marinated figs, baby arugula, spiced pine nuts, and microgreens. The crunchy spiced pine nuts perfectly tied the greens together.
To complement this fresh feast, we sipped on a glass of The Yesteryear cocktail (₹750), a balanced blend of gin, rosemary, and guava juice, and the Cali Peeli cocktail (₹750), a zesty concoction of tequila, citrus tonic, and kokum.
Now, let's talk about the pièce de résistance of our meal at Lyla—The Big Apple (₹650)! This gorgeous dessert features wine-poached apples paired with a velvety cinnamon and vanilla bean custard sauce. Almost too pretty cut into but upon tasting, the freshness of its French sable, and perfectly balanced cream cheese was totally worth trying.
Otherwise, you can also dig into Lyla‘s signature Horchata Tres Leches or Monstruo Churros for an indulgent happy ending!
In an exclusive conversation with Knocksense, Chef Beena Noronha, who also heads the kitchen at Gigi, shared, “We offer a modern Mexican-Californian fusion menu at Lyla. Our menu features tapas, refreshing salads, ceviches, hearty sandos, tortillas, and of course, delectable postre (desserts). If you’re wondering why you should visit Lyla? Well, for an exceptional dining experience with a fantastic vibe” and we completely agree with you, Chef Noronha!
With a name that literally means “night", it’s no wonder that Lyla is an attractive dinner spot for both locals and tourists. So if you are looking for a place to chill with extraordinary craft cocktails after a long day, Lyla is the place to be. Follow Lyla on Instagram for more updates.
