IIM Mumbai teams up with Airbus to offer professional Aviation Training in India

Airbus and the Indian Institute of Management in Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) have inked a pivotal agreement to revolutionise aviation education in India. Through the 'Airbus Beyond' programmes, professionals will receive industry-specific training, leading to skill enhancement in aviation logistics, supply chain management, and more.

The focus is on skill development in aviation sector

Prof. Manoj K Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, and Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, sealed the deal. This initiative provides courses covering aviation logistics, supply chain management, operational excellence, cargo handling, strategic procurement, business analytics, and digitization. As per the agreement, IIM Mumbai will arrange the courses, enrol students, and offer infrastructure and logistical assistance.

Maillard emphasised the significance of skill development for fostering growth in India's aviation sector, aiming to cultivate a pool of talent primed for the industry. Tiwari highlighted the partnership's focus on blending academic rigour with industry insights to drive innovation and leadership in aviation management.

The collaboration signifies a major leap towards excellence in aviation management education, promising transformative impact in the aerospace landscape. In the initial phase, Airbus will supply trainers and course material from the Airbus Beyond catalogue, with plans to co-curate long-term courses and certify trainers in subsequent phases.
