IIT Bombay kickstarts registration for e-Yantra Innovation Challenge 2022

e-Yantra aims to find solutions for inclusive urban infrastructure.

India's premier institute, IIT Bombay has launched the e-Yantra Innovation Challenge 2022 with an aim to find solutions for inclusive urban infrastructure.

Under the programme, the massive open online courses are designed to train teams of students for building a healthy startup infrastructure. They will be taught crucial skills required to solve real-world problems.

Ensuring Urban Inclusivity and Agriculture

The 2022 edition of the e-Yantra Innovation Challenge 2022 is based on the theme of 'Sustainable and Advanced Technologies for Helping Urban Inclusivity and Agriculture'. Herein, it will be ensured that welfare programmes reach the whole eligible population, without any bias.

What is the e-Yantra programme?

E-Yantra, with 400 labs across the country, is a robotics outreach programme funded by the Ministry of Education and hosted at IIT Bombay. The main aim of this programme is to harness the talent of young engineers to solve problems using technology across a variety of domains such as agriculture, manufacturing, defense, home, smart-city maintenance and service industries.

Benefitting over 2 lac students

The project-based learning approach, under the programme, complements traditional learning by providing a practical and real-time learning experience. So far, over 2,07,300 students and over 3,200 colleges have benefitted from the programme.

The e-Yantra programme includes a total of six initiatives including the e-Yantra Robotic Competition, e-Yantra Innovation Challenge, e-Yantra Lab Set up initiative, e-Yantra School Robotic Competition, e-Yantra MOOC and e-Yantra Farm Set up initiative.
