IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall coupled with thundershowers in Mumbai

Amid the 10-day Ganeshotsav celebration, people are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall in Mumbai for the next 48 hours. The Regional Meteorological Department (RMD), Mumbai, stated that along with moderate rainfall over the west coast of Maharashtra, thundershowers are also expected in Mumbai.

Temperature update for Colaba and Santacruz 

As per the long-term observations by IMD, the city is expected to witness higher precipitation in the month of September than what it witnessed in August. The RMD Mumbai in its weather forecast has stated that the maximum temperature in Santacruz will hover around 31.6°C, while the minimum temperature will stand at 26.2°C, for today.

On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Colaba will be 30.8°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 27°C.

Notably, a total of 1688.3 mm rainfall was recorded since June 1 by the Colaba observatory, meanwhile, the Santacruz observatory recorded a total of 2200.2 mm precipitation. Additionally, a high tide of 3.49 metres is expected at 9:41 PM in Mumbai, on September 7.
