Residents of Mumbai have been enduring scorching days, with the Santacruz Observatory recording a maximum temperature of 33° C on Wednesday. IMD Mumbai predicts that temperatures may escalate further in Mumbai and Thane, reaching up to 38-39°C.

mumbai weather todayDespite the prospect of rainfall in neighbouring districts attributed to the convergence of moist and dry winds, meteorologists have ruled out rains in Mumbai. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for Nashik, Nandurbar, Dhule, and several Vidarbha districts over the weekend, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
While the heatwave persists with temperatures soaring above 40°C in various locations, IMD expects a decline in temperatures after April 5, owing to anticipated light rainfall and cloud cover. Skymet Weather Services predicts a further rise in temperatures in parts of Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal, with pre-monsoon activity expected to commence around April 8, extending over central, eastern, and southern regions for the next 4-5 days.
