India's Richest Ganpati | Mumbai's GSB Seva Mandal sets insurance record with ₹400.58 cr coverage

India's richest Ganpati, Gaud Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) Seva Mandal at King's Circle in Mumbai, has broken its own record with an astonishing insurance coverage of ₹400.58 crore for its Ganeshotsav Mandal. This figure marks a significant increase from last year's ₹360 crore.

The comprehensive insurance policy covers risks such as theft, fire, and earthquakes, and extends to the pandal, its fixtures, and all personnel involved, including cooks and security staff.

The centrepiece of the celebration, a South Indian-style Ganpati clay idol, is adorned with over 66 kg of gold and 325 kg of silver ornaments, mostly donated by devotees.

This year's five-day festival, running from September 7 to 11, marks the 70th annual celebration organised by the GSB community. Chairman Amit Pai revealed that an average of 60,000 pujas will be performed, with approximately 20,000 people participating daily in the annadaan.

The event, which starts with the 'Virat Darshan' on September 5, will feature heightened security with over 100 CCTV cameras, facial recognition systems, and metal detectors to ensure safety.

The five-day Ganeshotsav, promises to be a grand affair, underscoring the GSB Seva Mandal's commitment to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with opulence and precision.
