Innovative and bizarre: Meet Mumbai's 'Audi Chaiwalas', parked at Andheri West

Khushbu Kirti

You might have experienced fine dining, in a lavish setting. You might have also had tea in a posh restaurant. But, have you ever had chai served out of the trunk of a ₹70 lakh car? We think not!

Meet Mannu Sharma and Amit Kashyap - the chaiwalas who have gone viral for selling tea out of a high-end luxury Audi. Their stall, On Drive Tea (ODT), picked up a quick pace as one of its Instagram videos went viral. So move over MBA Chaiwala and BTech Chaiwala - we now have Audi Chaiwalas in town! Check out this video doing rounds on the Internet.

ODT is stealing hearts with delicious chai and coffee!

Co-founded by Amit Kashyap and Mannu Sharma, this aberrant venture is winning hearts and how! The two men, hailing from Haryana and Punjab, had dreams of becoming actors in the City of Dreams. However, until the dream would turn into reality, the aspiring actors with an entrepreneurial mindset — decided to utilise their time.

They gave wings to ODT, which garnered lots of attention and praise online. The confluence of two things Indians adore — chai and Audi — led to a rather innovative marketing strategy and resulted in success. While some labelled the business as 'bizarre' and 'gimmicky', the positive responses have been abundant too.

People can come to the place, buy tea and even sit in the car to enjoy the overall experience.

So, if you ever find yourself in the lanes of Lokhandwala backroads, consider it your cue to try this popular Audi Chaiwala's ODT! They also have coffee for java lovers but we suggest, stick to the delish tea here.

Cost of Tea: ₹40
