In a first, Air India is poised to make history with the launch of non-stop flights from Mumbai to Melbourne, commencing on December 15. This new direct route has sparked enthusiasm among travellers, establishing a direct link between the lively cities of Mumbai and Melbourne.
Operating thrice a week, this service will add almost 40,000 seats annually to Victoria, Australia, strengthening the bilateral ties. Promotional fares for economy class begin at ₹49,000, providing an all-inclusive experience.
Starting from December 15th, the Flight AI-310 will take off from Mumbai at 12:50 AM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Melbourne at 6:10 PM local time. The return journey from Melbourne on the same days ( Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) will commence at 8:00 PM local time and the flight will touch down in Mumbai at 2:35 AM.
This schedule will allow passengers from 17 Indian cities to smoothly connect to Melbourne through Delhi or Mumbai, establishing convenient two-way connections between London Heathrow and Melbourne.
Air India will utilise Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Aircraft with 18 flat beds in Business Class and 238 seats in Economy Class, ensuring diverse travel options. This expansion is part of Air India's efforts to strengthen its presence in the region, with 28 weekly flights connecting India and Australia. Melbourne has a significant Indian community, making this route crucial for both personal and business travel.
