A grand tribute to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is on the horizon. A life-sized statue of 'Master Blaster' will be unveiled today in the evening at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, ahead of India's World Cup match against Sri Lanka tomorrow. The statue, revealed in visuals recently, perfectly captures Tendulkar's elegant over-the-top stroke and is strategically placed near the Sachin Tendulkar Stand, forging a symbolic connection between the cricket icon and the venue of his many iconic moments.
This news of Tendulkar's statue installation created immense excitement earlier this year. In the lead-up to the inauguration, finishing touches have been applied to this magnificent statue, celebrating the cricket maestro who celebrated his 50th birthday this year.
The ceremony promises to be star-studded, with dignitaries including Tendulkar, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and key figures from the BCCI. The Mumbai Cricket Association will also pay tribute to the legend. Further, Wankhede holds special memories for Tendulkar, as it was the site of his 2011 World Cup victory and numerous career highlights.
