Maharashtra Budget: Govt reduces VAT on petrol and diesel for Mumbai and other areas

The Maharashtra Government has decided to reduce VAT on petrol and diesel for a total of three regions, namely Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. For Mumbai, VAT on diesel will be slashed from 24% to 21%, which will bring a reduction of around ₹2 in the prices. With this reduction, the cost of diesel in Mumbai will drop to ₹90.15 from ₹92.15.

Meanwhile, the tax on petrol is being decreased from 26% to 25%, bringing a difference of 65 paise per litre in the price. With this, the cost of petrol in Mumbai will drop to ₹103.56 from ₹104.21.
