Mumbai Airport's passenger traffic surges to 52.8 million in FY 2023-24

Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, under Adani Group ownership, soared to new heights in the fiscal year 2023-24, welcoming a staggering 52.8 million passengers. This marked a remarkable 16% surge compared to the previous year, cementing its status as a bustling global hub.

The airport witnessed a flurry of activity, with over 26 million passengers arriving and 26.7 million departing during the fiscal year. Notably, November and December 2023 emerged as standout months, with November 25 marking the highest passenger traffic day, boasting 167,132 passengers, including a substantial mix of domestic and international travelers.

Additionally, November 11 saw the airport achieve its highest-ever single-day Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) at 1,032. Meanwhile, in December 2023, monthly traffic peaked at 4.89 million passengers, marking a 13% increase from the previous year's 4.34 million.

Moreover, the airport's expansion efforts paid off, as it added new international destinations like Almaty, Lagos, Jakarta, Entebbe, and Melbourne, along with increased frequencies to key hubs worldwide. London, Istanbul, and Hong Kong stood out with significant increases in passenger traffic, showcasing Mumbai airport's vital role in global connectivity across continents.
