On Sunday, Mumbai had cloudy skies with the IMD predicting occasional light to moderate rain across the city and suburbs. Temperatures ranged between 27°C and 34°C, with expected high tides of 0.44m. Rainfall totals up to Saturday were 7.49mm in the city, 33.68mm in the eastern suburbs, and 18.30mm in the western suburbs.

200 Bahawa trees to be planted along WEH in Kherwadi, Bandra

In a bid to enhance urban greenery, Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the MEGA Foundation will plant 200 Bahawa trees along the Western Express Highway in Kherwadi, Bandra. The event, inaugurated by actor Akshay Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, aims to restore environmental balance. This initiative, part of the "Accept the Pit of Trees" campaign, addresses the damage from Cyclone Tauktae in Gujarat and promotes a sustainable urban environment.

Mumbai's Chalo Bus ridership soars to 50%, fleet expands by 44%

Mumbai's BEST-affiliated Chalo buses have experienced a 50% rise in ridership, averaging 10,000 daily commuters on weekdays. To meet this demand, Chalo is expanding its fleet by 44%, adding new electric luxury AC buses, totalling 144 buses.

Popular routes like Belapur-Colaba via MTHL-Atal Setu and Thane-Andheri will see increased trips by 15% to 40%. Chalo also plans to introduce new routes and offers flexible monthly travel plans, including route-specific passes, catering to a wider audience in Mumbai.

MSRTC introduces Shivneri bus service for Pune-Mumbai commuters

MSRTC has launched the Shivneri bus service catering to weekly commuters between Pune and Mumbai. Utilising the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, this service offers direct connectivity, reducing travel time significantly. With departures from Swargate every Monday morning and returns from Mantralaya on Friday evenings, it aims to provide a reliable and convenient option. Discounted fares and online booking further enhance accessibility for passengers.

As per the Liases Foras Market Report, Mumbai's Altamount Road, also known as "Billionaires' Row" in Mumbai, stands out as India's most expensive locality with a staggering ₹1,95,503 per square foot price tag. Home to Mukesh Ambani's 'Antilia,' it epitomises luxury living. Other elite areas in Mumbai such as Juhu, Worli and Prabhadevi, also command high prices, attracting celebrities and affluent residents alike.
