In anticipation of the Prime Minister of India's scheduled roadshow on May 15 in parts of the city, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a Traffic Advisory for commuters. The political roadshow is set to take place on L.B.S Road under the jurisdiction of the Ghatkopar Traffic Police Division.
According to authorities, the congregation expected on such a large scale along L.B.S. Road, will significantly impact vehicular traffic movement on adjoining roads in the vicinity. Due to this, the traffic police have implemented the following traffic arrangements:
Roads closed for vehicular traffic:
From 2 PM to 10 PM, both lanes of L.B.S. Road will be closed for vehicular traffic, stretching from Gandhi Nagar Junction to Navpada Junction, as well as on Mahul-Ghatkopar Road, extending from Meghraj Junction to R.B. Kadam Junction.
Roads that shall be closed for vehicular traffic as per requirements:
Andheri - Ghatkopar Link Road, from Ghatkopar Junction to Sakinaka Junction
Road towards Gulati Petrol Pump Junction from Hiranandani Kailash
Road from Golibar Maidan and Ghatkopar Metro Station (W) towards Sarvodaya Junction
Suggested alternate routes for commuters:
Mumbai Police has advised motorists to plan their journeys on these alternative routes - Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central Road, Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR), Sion-Bandra Link Road, and Jogeshwari Vikroli Link Road (JVLR).
