The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest weather update, stated that Mumbai and its suburbs will receive moderate rainfall on Monday with overcast skies. While the city was on Yellow Alert for Saturday and Sunday, there’s no alert for Mumbai from July 29 to August 1.
The monsoon trough is not intense right now, as a result of which, intense rainfall will not take place over Mumbai. However, the south westerly and westerly winds will continue to blow. That may lead to light to moderate rainfall in Mumbai, shared officials from IMD.
After a fortnight of relentless rain that had Mumbai’s streets resembling waterways and threw a spanner in the rail services, it seems Mumbaikars are in for a break this week.
Mumbai is expected to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain on July 30, July 31, and August 1. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to lower over the upcoming days. The maximum temperature is expected to remain constant at 31°C, while the minimum temperature will likely oscillate between 25°C and 26°C.
Additionally, a Yellow Alert has been issued in places Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara and Amravati in Maharashtra for July 29.
