After experiencing record-breaking heat and high humidity in the past couple of weeks, Mumbai is now set to experience a bout of respite. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a slight drop in temperatures over the next few days, before a surge in temperatures again, next week.

The city awoke to clear skies and gentle breezes, with a minimum temperature of 26°C and a maximum expected to reach 37°C. Winds from the north-northwesterly direction were anticipated at 9.3 km/h, providing some respite from scorching conditions.

Despite the moderation in temperature, Mumbai's air quality remained moderate, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 147 for PM10 particles, as reported by SAFAR-India. While the city still yearns for rainfall amid the dry spell, IMD predicts heatwave conditions to persist in certain areas of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid prolonged outdoor activities to combat the sweltering heat.
