Mumbai's BEST to operate extra buses during Diwali; Heritage tours begin Oct 22

BEST to increase it's bus fleet by 10% on the occasion of Diwali

With Diwali just around the corner, an increase in commuters within the city, especially for festive shopping and visiting relatives has been noted. In order to cater to the increase in passenger rush during Diwali, Mumbai's BEST will increase its bus fleet by 10%.

Apart from this, BEST will also start open-deck buses for heritage tours. Read on to know more.

Additional buses to connect market areas in Mumbai

Reportedly, 25 additional buses will operate on various routes in Mumbai on Sundays and holidays. The new services will come into effect from October 22 and will remain in place till October 23, offering a convenient and hassle-free travel experience.

Shopping markets in Dadar, Crawford and other areas will be most benefitted, as this new service will mostly run through various market areas in Mumbai. Moreover, BEST will operate 140 additionally buses for Bhau Beej on October 26.

Heritage tours on open deck buses

Keeping in mind the celebrations in Mumbai, BEST on Tuesday also announced the start of heritage tours on open deck buses, adding more to your festive itineraries. These buses will start operation on October 22 with the first bus departing at 7:00 AM.

The Mumbai Heritage tour on open deck buses will cover major sightseeing spots, including Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive, Chowpatty and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus among others.

As per the press release issued by BEST, all the information about the Heritage tour trips can be availed by calling the toll-free numbers of BEST: 1800 227550 and 022-24190117 and from the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk bus depot. Notably, the tickets for these heritage tours will be available on the Book My Show app and BEST Chalo app.
