Mumbai's iconic Lalbaugcha Raja is "coming to Delhi" for Ganesh Chaturthi, promising a grand celebration for devotees. The festival will feature a replica of the iconic Ganesha idol, meticulously crafted at its original site, and include spiritual talks, cultural performances, and evening musical shows.
First introduced to Delhi in 2015, this famous Ganesha idol, known for drawing thousands in Mumbai, will be the centrepiece of a massive Ganesh Mahotsav from September 7-16 at the DDA Ground in Burari.
During a press conference, a committee member encouraged Delhiites to experience the grandeur of the event, highlighting that the massive pandal, spanning 6,00,000 square feet with wooden flooring, is designed to host up to 5,00,000 visitors.
Rakesh Bindal, Chairman of the Lalbagh ka Raja Trust, promised additional attractions including a giant adventure wheel and many food stalls. The eco-friendly Ganesha idol will be immersed in a specially constructed pit on-site.
