UNICEF India, IIT Bombay, and IIIHMR Delhi launch Digital Health Course

UNICEF India, the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) launched the 'Digital Health Enterprise Planning Course' today. Starting April 17, 2024, the course targets healthcare professionals and policymakers, aiming to enhance their digital health skills. IIM Mumbai and Starbust Aerospace join hands to boost India's ASD ecosystem

IIM Mumbai and Starbust Aerospace have partnered to foster an Aerospace, New Space, and Defence (ASD) ecosystem in India. The collaboration, formalised by a signing ceremony at IIM Mumbai, aims to support ASD startups nationwide, leveraging expertise and resources from both entities. This initiative, endorsed by esteemed guests, aims to propel India's ASD sector on a global scale.

Akasa Air launches international operations with Mumbai-Doha flight 

Akasa Air launched its international service from Mumbai to Doha, Qatar, which includes the operation of four weekly non-stop flights. The inaugural flight departed on March 28, from Mumbai and landed in Doha, marking a step towards enhancing trade and tourism ties between the two countris. The airline has also been granted air traffic rights for 3 other international destination - Riyadh, Kuwait, and Jeddah. Special holiday packages are available for travellers interested in visiting Doha through Akasa Holidays.

Central Railway's Summer Special trains between Mumbai, UP, and Bihar

Central Railway has introduced 156 Summer Special trains between Mumbai and UP, Bihar to manage passenger overflow. The train details are-

  • LTT-Banaras Weekly Special (26 trips)

  • LTT-Danapur Bi-Weekly Special (52 trips)

  • LTT-Samastipur Weekly Special (26 trips)

  • LTT-Prayagraj Superfast AC Weekly Special (26 trips)

  • LTT-Gorakhpur Weekly Special (26 trips)

Vistara launches non-stop Mumbai-Paris flights

Vistara has now launched non-stop Mumbai-Paris flights, five times weekly. Operated on their 787-9 Dreamliner, the inaugural flight departed Mumbai at 13:50 hrs IST on March 28, landing in Paris at 18:55 hrs CET. This marks Vistara's sixth long-haul route between India and Europe, enhancing connectivity. The schedule of Mumbai-Paris route, Flight No. UK 023 is:

  • Operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

  • Departs Mumbai at 13:20 hrs, arriving Paris at 19:30 hrs local time

  • Return Flight No. UK 024:

    • Operates on the same days

    • Departs Paris at 21:30 hrs, arriving Mumbai at 9:50 hrs the following day

Fares for shared cabs from Mumbai to Pune, Nashik, and Shirdi increased

Fares for shared taxis from Mumbai to Nashik, Shirdi, and Pune are set to increase by ₹50 to ₹200 based on the route, pending implementation next month, according to RTO sources. AC taxi fares for Mumbai-Nashik and Mumbai-Shirdi routes will rise to ₹575 and ₹825 from the existing ₹475 and ₹625, respectively. Non-AC taxi fare for Mumbai-Pune will be ₹500, up from ₹450, while AC taxi fare will be ₹575 instead of ₹525. Revised fare charts will be posted at taxi stands like Dadar, Borivali, and Sion.

Power outage hit parts of South Mumbai on Thursday night

A major power outage hit several areas in Mumbai on Thursday night, including Mahapalika Marg, GT Hospital, Crawford Market, and Marine Lines, leaving residents in complete darkness from 8:00 PM. Restoration began after 9:05 PM. The blackout resulted from a tripped 33-kilovolt feeder from Tata Power's Carnac Bunder facility to the GT Hospital receiving station. Power has been fully restored since.
