As Maharashtra gears up for its Assembly elections on November 20, a series of dry days have been scheduled across the state to ensure a smooth electoral process. The Election Commission has ordered liquor sales closures in Mumbai on various dates before and after the elections.

The city will observe dry days on November 12 (today), 18, 19, 20, and 23, with varying durations each day.

  • November 12: Full dry day (no liquor sales all day)

  • November 18: Liquor sales prohibited after 6 PM

  • November 19: Full dry day (no liquor sales all day)

  • November 20: Liquor sales restricted until 6 PM

  • November 23: Liquor shops closed until 6 PM (due to vote counting)

As elections are held across the state for 288 seats, these dry days in mumbai are intended to limit liquor distribution around voting and counting times. This measure, mandated by the Election Commission, ensures a fair election environment.
