Uber is set to roll out its bus shuttle service in Mumbai, following successful launches in Kolkata and Delhi. The cab-hailing platform is also preparing to debut the service in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, offering an affordable and convenient travel option for city commuters.

Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India and South Asia, expressed excitement about the expansion, noting that Mumbai is one of the next cities to go live.

Better commute for Mumbai

Compared to the city's packed local trains and BEST buses, the new service is designed to give Mumbaikars a more comfortable and convenient option. Offering air-conditioned shuttles with guaranteed seating and frequent service, this new shuttle service seeks to address a significant need in Mumbai's transportation network. The company has also reintroduced its premium Uber Black service in India, beginning with Mumbai, after nearly a decade-long hiatus.

Prabhjeet Singh emphasised that the goal is to improve the city’s public transit system by delivering a more reliable and comfortable commuting experience. Geared toward office-goers along major business corridors, the service aims to streamline daily commutes, though specific routes are yet to be finalised.
