Pedal through Mumbai's FIRST cycling park in Juhu, beckoning locals and cyclists since 2011

Located in Juhu, Pushpa Narsee Park is a beloved urban oasis that offers a refreshing break from Mumbai’s chaos. Since its inauguration in 2011, this cherished municipal garden has gained recognition as one of the city's first cycling parks, featuring dedicated pathways for cyclists and pedestrians that wind through its spacious central garden.

Revamped and reopened in February 2024, the park in Juhu has become an inviting spot for locals and visitors, celebrating the importance of green spaces in urban life.

Relax, play, and cycle

Upon entering, you're greeted by a lush lawn surrounded by towering trees that provide ample shade, making it a popular resting spot for people around.

One of the park’s standout features is its innovative cycling track, one of Mumbai’s first, which weaves around its triangular perimeter, keeping cyclists separate from pedestrians for safety. This design enhances the park's inviting atmosphere and attracts visitors.

At the heart of the park lies a spacious lawn dotted with trees, ideal for relaxing on hot days. The dedicated children’s play area transforms it into a recreational haven for all.

The rebirth of Pushpa Narsee Park

Pushpa Narsee Park’s recent history showcases the power of community activism. When plans for an underground parking facility threatened its green space, local environmentalists and citizens rallied for preservation. Their efforts succeeded, with MLA Ameet Satam advocating for the park's enhancement instead.

Following a significant uplift, the park was officially reopened on February 19, with architect P.K. Das emphasising its role as an essential public space.

A green escape!

The park is now a lively hub where children can run freely, laughter echoing through the air as they chase balloons. The transformation has ensured that Pushpa Narsee Park remains a treasured green space, offering a much-needed balance to the urban landscape of Juhu.

Whether you're looking to cycle, stroll, or simply unwind, this park is a testament to the importance of accessible open spaces in our cities.
