Are you heading for the flag hoisting ceremony being held at Mantralaya?

Tomorrow the Maximum City is all set to celebrate the day with pride! Enormous crowds are expected to gather for the Independence Day celebrations in Mumbai, especially for the Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Mantralaya. To facilitate a smooth flow of traffic, the Police has issued a traffic advisory.

Read on to know about alternate routes, no parking zones, and roads that will remain closed for the duration of the celebrations:

Check closed roads and No Parking Zones here: 

Roads that will stay closed from 6 AM to 11 AM:

  • Madam Cama Road to remain closed on both bounds between Air India junction and Godrej Junction

  • Free Press Road to stay closed from Valmiki Chowk to Rajguru Chowk.

  • General Jagannath Bhosale Marg to remain shut from Sant Sevalal Chowk to Rajguru Chowk.

Places where parking will be restricted from 6 PM today to 12 Noon tomorrow:

  • Maharshi Karve Marg

  • General Jagannath Bhosale Marg

  • Free Press Journal Marg from Valmiki Chowk to Rajguru Chowk

  • H.T. Parekh Marg

  • Jeevan Bima Marg

Alternate and designated routes for Attendees

Alternate routes:

  • Incoming traffic from N.S.Road, trying to go to Colaba or Cuff Parade shall take the N.S. Road-Kilachand Chowk-Ahilyabai Holkar-Ramnath Poddar Chowk route to go towards their destination.

  • Incoming from from Cuff Parade, trying to go to CSMT Churchgate shall take the Dipak Jog Chowk-Ramnath Poddar Chowk-Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Marg route to reach Churchgate.

  • Incoming traffic from Cuff Parade, trying to go to N.S.Road will have to take the Dipak Jog Chowk-Sant Sevalal Chowk-V.V. Rao Road-Free Press Journal Marg-Valmiki Chowk-Barrister Rajni Patel Marg-Jamnalal Bajaj Marg-K Vinay Shah Marg route to reach their destination.

Designated routes for Invitees heading to Mantralaya:

  • Those coming from Cuff Parade, General Jagannath Bhosale road, Colaba, and Fort Area will have to take the Rajguru Chowk route.

  • Those coming from the Maharshi Karve road shall use the HT Parekh Marg to reach Mantralaya via the west entrance.

  • People coming from the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose road can arrive via the Venutai Chawan Chowk-Madam Cama road-Jeevan Bima marg route to reach Mantralaya.
