Confirmed as delayed by Skymet Weather officials, the monsoon season was predicted to arrive in Mumbai by June 18. However, now the rains have started their onset towards northern Maharashtra, kicking off from Ratnagiri. As a result, intense rainfall is expected in Mumbai, over the next two days.
Monsoon is at the doorstep of both Mumbai and Pune. The average humidity has increased to 81% with the maximum temperature in Mumbai at 31°C, on June 23. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature is predicted to hover around 27°C. Existing southwest winds are blowing at a speed of 18 kmph and will strengthen in intensity in the coming days, as per reports.
According to data by BMC, Mumbai along with its eastern and western suburbs, recorded 0.59 mm, 0.40 mm and 0.39 mm of rainfall, respectively, on June 21.
