Back when Holkars ruled Indore, Ralamandal served as a hunting ground for the royal family members because this locale boasted of an umpteen variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards and deer. Established back in 1980s, this sanctuary still attracts hordes of visitors from all over and is famous amidst birders as well! There is also a Forest Rest House available for booking, for those who wish to stay the night in this haven to absorb this scenic beauty here in all its glory.
Along with brutes and a plethora of winged beauties, you can also find different species of plants like eucalyptus, bamboo, chandan, teak and so on! But don't go touching the leaves of random plants here because in the midst of your visit, you might end up with an allergic reaction and immediate medical help may not be available.

Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary is the ideal place for you, if you wish to take up a trek through the criss-cross paths here, shadowed by trees! But even if you are not particularly excited about a journey through the sanctuary on foot, there is no need to worry. The sanctuary offers bikes and cycles for hire, for you to ride on.
Another very interesting tourist attraction of the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary is its facility of camel rides, which is quite popular amid children. Further, the authorities here have made an exceptional attempt to protect the animals and birds from air and noise pollution coming from the nearby highway, by building a 'green wall' of about 10,000 trees.
The best time for you to visit this sanctuary is between the months of November to March when the weather is pleasant, so before the heat waves take over, head out for a drive with your friends or family!
