Setting itself apart from the usual loud party culture of Goa, Divar Island hosts several folk festivals whose charms allure tourists. Celebrated by the residents of Piedade Village in August is Bonderam, a festival similar to the carnival which is enjoyed with music as people dress up in colourful clothes. Other festivities include the Potekar, commonly referred to as the Indian version of Halloween, and the Feast of Our Lord Redeemer, which is marked by a traditional feast thrown in November.

Ancient structures such as the ruins of the Kadamba Dynasty, the 400-year-old Sao Mathias Church and the 12th-century ghost town of Naroa, are great destinations to explore. The Koti Tirtha Tali in Naroa is believed to have 108 temples constructed within its premises. While there are not many sightseeing spots in Divar Island, the picturesque landscape dotted by Portuguese-era architecture makes for pleasant scenery.

Apart from serving the traditional Goan summer drink, Urak, this island is also famous for its seafood- especially prawns.
