It has been reported that the two trains, numbered 07342/07341 and 07343/07344, will run with the new rakes now. With sources of motive power installed below each coach, the trains have the facility of fast and dynamic acceleration and retardation. This allows the vehicles to undertake quick trips between the two stations after short periods of time. Besides, it is expected that advanced rakes will also enhance the ease of commute for travellers.

Further, the DEMU trains come with an additional facility, which allows operation from both ends. This saves a lot of time because the engine reversal process is usually a burdensome one. In addition to this, reports that DEMU racks have a seating capacity of 105, in contrast to the 90 seats available in the regular coaches. Notably, the officials have also resolved to deploy one more train (07379/07380) on the route between Vasco-Da-Gama and Kulem.

A senior official informed that the frequency of the trains will also be increased, in line with the expanding passenger demands. As per reports, the authorities have worked on interventions for setting up a maintenance facility at Vasco Da Gama itself, so that the DEMU trains can be stationed here during the night.
