"The expert committee has recommended and the government has agreed to have spot registration for vaccination of lactating mothers, whose children are less than two years old and those who are between the 18-44 years age group and those with comorbid conditions," the CM said. Further, Goa is also witnessing Tika Utsav 2.0, in an attempt to vaccinate the 40% remaining population in the age group over 45.
In the Tika Utsav program that begins today, citizens over 45 will be able to avail themselves of their first doses. The CM envisions inoculating 90-100% of the population above 45 so that the drives can be focused on the 18+ category now. Further, it has been said that the second dose will be administered only after 84 days from the day that the first dose was given.
