Anjana Kumari has previously bagged the bronze medal at the National Games in 2015 and this league marks her first appearance on the court post the COVID-19 pandemic. A woman of many wonders, Anjana also rose to fame after making it to the quarter-finals in the Fajr Iran International Challenge Badminton Tournament held in February 2020, which happens to be her last league before the suspension of sports activities due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

This is Kumari's first tournament in almost a year's time and hence, she left no stone unturned in order to emerge victorious in the tournament. In the first round, Anjana settled the scores with Meble Namakoye of Uganda, with 21-12 & 21-16 shining on the score board. Inching closer to the trophy, in the pre-quarter-final match, Anjana Kumari won a match against Betty APIO of Uganda very comfortably by score of 21-7 & 21-8.
