Indian Navy prepares oxygen beds for COVID patients at its hospitals in Goa, Mumbai & Karwar!
In a bid to supplement the healthcare infrastructure for catering to the increasing count of COVID patients, Western Naval Command has prepared oxygenated beds for public use at its centres in Goa, Mumbai and Karwar. Reportedly, oxygen beds across INHA Jeevanti, Goa, INHS Patanjali at Karwar in Karnataka and at INHS Sandhani in Mumbai, will be available for COVID infected individuals. The officials have assembled these facilities for emergency use by the civil authorities.
All 3 wings of the Indian Army to arrange facilities for civilian use
As per reports, the Defence Minister has instructed all three wings of the Indian Army to arrange facilities in their medical centres for civilian use amidst the COVID crisis. Further, the minister also asserted that the forces will provide assured assistance to the civil administrations in tackling the current predicament.
In alignment with these orders, the defence PSUs and OFBs are allowed to set up facilities for COVID affected individuals at their medical centres. While the centre at Goa would be admitting patients for treatment and care, the other two hospitals in Mumbai and Karwar have also made specific arrangements to provide help to the migrant labourers.
Community kitchens by naval teams in Goa to be revived if need arises

Reportedly, the naval groups at Goa had started community kitchens to help the needy and the deprived with food during the first wave of the pandemic. Now, it is being said that the naval officers are ready to provide similar aid to the individuals across different sections of the society, if a requirement is observed. It is remarkable to note that the Indian Army is always ready to serve the nation in different ways through any kind of calamity or humanitarian crisis.
