The Kadamba Transport Corporation launched its first AC e-bus on Thursday, between Vasco and Panaji. As per reports, the agency plans on inducting about 500 such buses to its smart fleet across all KTC depots in Goa. The move is expected to enhance public travel in the state and offer state-of-the-art, modern facilties to the people.

Developing accessory e-infrastructure for new fleet

Corresponding to the e-bus upgrade, all KTC bus depots in Goa will be developed as e-charging stations, the Goa Transport Minister said during the first e-bus launch on Thursday. This will ensure that no vehicle of the new fleet is left idle at the bus-terminus. These round the clock charging facilties, in turn, will enable buses to start off trips as and when required.

Enhancing tourists' Goa experience

Tourists and travellers in Goa will greatly benefit from this, said officials, as they are often troubled due to lack of public transport near the Dabolim Airport region. Cab drivers not only charge exorbitant fares but also add to the road traffic in Panjim.

State-run KTC smart buses will help them find easy commute provisions, heightening their travel Goa experience. The transport corporation is only dedicated to providing good service, irrespective of profit and loss, said KTC Chairman who was also present at the launch.
