52nd IFFI to be held in Goa from Nov 20-28 this year!
Claimed to be Asia's oldest and the country's biggest celebration of films, the 52nd International Film Festival of India will be organised in Goa from November 20th to 28th this year. Announcing the timeline of the grand event, the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister released the poster for the 52nd edition of the festival. Notably, the Directorate of Films Festivals, Ministry of I&B will pay a special tribute to the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray at the program.
Entries in the competitive section to be accepted till August 3
Acknowledged by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), the IFFI brings together a range of movies from different genres, sourced from national and international boundaries. The festival honours the art of film-making by giving a glorious platform to amateur and trained artists to showcase their works.
It will be conducted with the collaborative efforts of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), Central Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the State Government of Goa and the Indian Film Industry. Given the success of the 51st IFFI, this year's event will also be organised in a hybrid format. As per reports, the call for participation in the competitive section of the 52nd edition has been rolled out and entries will be accepted till Aug 3, 2021.

As per reports, the life and works of globally acclaimed director Satyajit Ray will be celebrated at the 52nd IFFI with a special retrospective program. Remarkably, 2021 is the birth centenary of the gem of Indian Cinema, who has left behind timeless classics and soul-stirring movies. Additionally, reports state that authorities have decided to institute the "Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Cinema" to be given annually at the IFFI from this year onwards.
