IMD: Goa to experience high temperature, thunderstorms & rain next week
According to IMD’s weather forecast prediction on Thursday, Goa is likely to experience moisture incursion and cloud formation leading to thunderstorms by next week. IMD Goa’s Twitter handle also issued an advisory for fishermen along the coast of Goa and Maharastra due to a low-pressure area over the South Bay of Bengal.
Goa's daytime temperature to get 2°C hotter
The IMD Goa via its Twitter handle stated that "the easterly-south easterly winds are likely to strengthen over Goa, the Maximum temperature is likely to be around 2°C higher than the present values for about 3 consecutive days from tomorrow, over North & South Goa districts."
In February 2022, Panaji had just one day with the daily Maximum temperature higher than 35°C. However, in the last two years, it was four and eight days respectively. The first depression of the season has also intensified over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial region as a good sign for the monsoon this season.
Although the Depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal will not have any direct impact on Goa, a rise of 2°C in maximum temperature is expected in the state for the next few days.
