India's moon rover finds Oxygen, Titanium, among other elements on the moon
On its probe of the lunar surface, India's Pragyan rover has found sulphur, aluminum, iron, calcium, oxygen, and silicon among other elements on moon's south pole. The Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) instrument on the ISRO rover has made these in-situ measurements of the moon's elemental composition possible.
Prices of LPG cylinders slashed by ₹200
In a big relief leading up to the festive season, the Central Government has announced reduction of ₹200 in LPG cylinder prices for all consumers. Effective from August 30, LPG cylinders will cost ₹903, coming down from the cost of ₹1,103.
Data shows this potentially being the driest August in India since 1901
Intensifying El Nino conditions have meant that India is set to mark this August to be the driest since 1901, according to senior meteorologists. Furthermore, this monsoon has also turned out to be the driest since 2015, registering a rainfall deficit of 13%.

The trade fair will be held in Greater Noida from September 21 to September 25. The participants who have registered belong to Europe, Oceania, Africa, North East Asia, North America, among other world regions.
All checks on Indian rocket for Aditya L-1 solar mission completed
The launch rehearsal and checks on the rocket to be used in ISRO's first sun mission have been completed. The mission, which has been named Aditya-L1, will be launched from Sriharikota spaceport at 11:50 AM on September 2, 2023.
