As per the Director of the Department of Tourism, Nishant Jain, “the east of Rajasthan is imbued with the essence of Braj and the annual Braj Holi Festival of the Rajasthan tourism department is a celebration of the rich traditions. From local sports to folk dance and music, it is set to enthral visitors of all ages with colours of Braj.”
The region of Braj covers areas in the east of Rajasthan and extends to the adjacent state of Uttar Pradesh. This region is associated with Lord Krishna and his many stories. The essence of it can still be experienced in the culture of the locals residing here, making Holi an important festival for them.
