The Indore Metro project has gained significant momentum, and its implementation is well underway. The authorities are dedicated to integrating state-of-the-art technology, ensuring that the system meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency, thereby positioning it as one of the most advanced modes of public transportation.

As part of its commitment to integrating advanced technology, the Indore Metro Rail project will utilize state-of-the-art signalling technology. This cutting-edge system will ensure the safe separation of trains, enhancing the overall efficiency and reliability of the metro service.

More about the cutting-edge tech which will be integrated in Indore Metro trains

Specifically, the project will make use of a Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system, known for its advanced features. This system enables unattended train operation, commonly referred to as Grade of Automation-4 (GoA-4).

By implementing this technology, the metro rail service in Indore will be able to operate with a high level of automation, reducing the need for human intervention and enhancing operational efficiency.

What's the project update?

The metro trains which have been designed by Alstom, the French multinational rolling stock manufacturers come with other advanced grade systems. These include computer-based interlocking, automatic train control, automatic train supervision and centralised control and monitoring.

This level of automation and communication will not only ensure safe train separation but also optimize the capacity and frequency of train operations on Indore's metro corridor.

Furthermore, as per the project update the piling work of all 16 metro stations has reached 99% completion while the trial run on the high priority corridor is scheduled to start in September 2023.
