MP witnesses a decline in positivity rate; 100 COVID cases ​reported in Indore on Friday

Witnessing a steep decline in COVID-19 cases, Indore reported just 100 fresh cases on Friday, taking the total active case count to 431 in the district. Meanwhile, with zero deaths reported on Friday, the toll stands at 1,459. None of the 64 areas in Indore have turned out to be a hotspot for three days in a row, since the maximum number of cases from a single division remained at 7. Among these 64 areas, Manalaxmi Nagar and Vijay Nagar reported the highest number of cases with five and seven cases respectively.

Madhya Pradesh on Friday registered 888 active cases and two deaths taking the total active case count to 9,706 and the death toll at 10,711. Meanwhile, the decline in daily COVID cases also resulted in a decline in the Total Positivity Rate (TPR) from 1.87% to 1.4%.

The Health Department administered 747 precautionary doses on Friday, taking the total precautionary dose count to 90,809. As per the state Health Department, over 8,000 healthcare workers and 10,000 frontline workers still haven’t received the precautionary dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, 2,491 adolescents aged 15-18 were inoculated with the second dose while 292 were given the first dose. So far, a total of 65,29,060 doses including first, second and precautionary doses have been administered in the state, wherein 5,400 doses were administered on Friday.
