COVID-19: Indore to initiate vaccination of over 1.5 lakh children aged 12 to 14 years

A mass COVID-19 vaccination drive for children of age group 12-14 years is in the works. Over 1.5 lakh children are to be inoculated during this vaccination drive that will start tomorrow. However, state health officials are yet to receive the doses and proper instruction for the vaccination of this category. Read on to know more about the drive.

As per the announcement, Corbevax manufactured by Biological E. Limited, Hyderabad will be administered to kids aged 12-14 years of age. The district targeted the vaccination of 1.94 lakh teenagers in the earlier drive. It is expected that similar to the earlier drive, school campuses will act as vaccination centres for kids in the 12 to 14 years age group.

The Union Government after due deliberations with scientific bodies announced to start COVID-19 vaccination for 12-13 yr and 13-14 yr age groups (those born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 i.e those who are already above 12 years of age) of the population from March 16, 2022.
