The motive of the course is to help other cities adopt Indore’s cleanliness model. In order to achieve this, officials from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) from across the country will be taking this course. According to IIM Indore Director Prof. Himanshu Rai, the proposal for the course is still in the initial stages. Once an agreement is reached, the course structure and module will be finalised.

IMC Commissioner Pratibha Pal informed that funds paid by the government for capacity building can be used to pay IIM as the course fee. A tri-party agreement will be signed by IIM, IMC, and the Ministry of Urban Development for the same. This will ensure smooth operations since the practical part of the programme will be taken by IMC under which a number of field visits will be conducted.

What are Capacity Building Funds?

These funds are designed to support capacity-building efforts in Indigenous communities. They specifically relate to building increased knowledge and skills for the establishment and management of community-based programmes. Capacity-building funds take care of challenges by providing skills and reducing the knowledge gap.
