Indore News | West Discom to assess power supply in MP polling booths ahead of elections
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company (West Discom) to ensure adequate power supply for all polling booths in 15 districts lying under its jurisdiction. The Lok Sabha elections in the state will be conducted in four phases from April 19 to May 13.
The West Discom will assess the power arrangements for 18,000 polling booths across various districts, with 2500 booths in Indore city alone.
Reportedly, superintending engineers from all 15 districts have been instructed to coordinate with the District Election Officer to review the electricity supply at these booths. Additionally, temporary power connections will be provided to approximately 1000 polling booths within West Discom's area.
