Electricity bills to be regulated in Indore with accurate metre readings via QR codes!

Residents across Indore have been troubled by elevated electricity bills, in absence of the correct metre readings. After multiple complaints were raised in this regard, the district's electricity company has decided to take stringent steps for solving this problem. Thereby, it has been stated that the readings will be considered valid only when there is a proper photograph attesting to its accuracy. As per reports, metre readings will have to be uploaded on the users' app of the electricity company via the QR code.

Reportedly, the Managing Director of the electricity company has issued directives to the local authorities of all 15 districts along the Indore-Ujjain stretch. In order to facilitate proper implementation of the new orders, the IT department of the company has strengthened the QR code system.

Reports state the technique is functional across 10 lakh homes and other establishments and it will now be expanded across to cover leftover spaces. It is expected that the current problems will be resolved once the scheme is executed over a wide region.

The MD instructed the officials to make sure that the project is implemented using the best practices. It has been reported that the junior engineers will ensure that the meter readings are correctly noted. If the photographs show any discrepancies, the readings will be adjusted accordingly. Further, if any reader works inefficiently, strict action will be taken against him. With correct readings and accurate bills, citizens will be encouraged to pay their bills on time.
