IIM Indore collaborates with GIZ India, for research & study on the pandemic's effects
In an attempt to study and assess the impact of the pandemic on the country's industrial infrastructure, the Indian Institute of Management Indore has associated with a German institution. Marking its partnership with GIZ India, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the B-school will examine the effects of the pandemic on a range of subjects. Reportedly, this includes research based on Indian industrial establishments, their employees and their work culture.
B-school receives a grant of ₹83.5 lakhs for research and analysis
Reports state the institute will be involved in multiple projects ranging from extensive case studies to comprehensive research papers and 2 book projects. On the basis of this, IIM Indore will work on elaborate documentation to help in boosting the industrial preparation against the pandemic. For this purpose, the institute has also received a research grant worth ₹83.5 laks from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
As per reports, the officials at the institute apprised that a mixed approach will be deployed for studying the data points including qualitative and quantitative methods. Based on the experiences of the employees and the challenges faced by the industries, the research would use its findings to expound upon probable solutions. With the help of this, the industrial sector will also reap the benefits of cross-sectoral learnings.
It is noteworthy that the industrial sphere has been hit hard by the ongoing circumstances and this project shall help in finding viable remedies for the problems. While health indexes of all countries have suffered badly, it has to be acknowledged that the economy constitutes to be another severely affected sector and this impact would definitely stretch over a long period.
