As per reports, the samples will be analysed for the presence of the new mutant strain at Delhi's National Centre for Disease Control(NCDC). As of now, no Delta Plus-infected patient has been found in Indore and the officials are trying their best to prevent its advent. Notably, only 7 COVID infections and 26 recoveries were recorded on Sunday while the active case tally stands at 141. Cumulatively, 1,52,821 individuals have been diagnosed with Delta Plus and 8,917 of these have succumbed to the disease.

Recently, it was reported that more than 50 samples tested positive for the new mutants of COVID, including Alpha, Beta and Delta. This has prompted the authorities to implement measures for amplified caution and control, as an attempt to clamp uncontrolled cases. With the dropping infection and positivity rate, the curfew restrictions have fizzled out in Indore as the city reverts back to normalcy. Subsequently, the Sunday curfew was also revoked across all districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Reportedly, the city administration and the medical establishment in Indore have joined hands to strengthen preparations for mitigating the possibilities of a third wave. Amongst the multiple initiatives being taken, reports state that around 700 PICU beds will be set up across 7 different hospitals in the city. Given the expectations regarding the dire effect of the third wave on children, widespread interventions like these are urgently required.
